Mixing conceptual art with design and sculpture, the artist introduces the audience to the universe of Abstract-Erotism also called Pornographie de Salon.
When it comes to sexual discourse, our society seems to find comfort in criticising social restrictions. However, sex as a subject has never been more popular. The discrimination and preaching that dominated over the centuries, found a rival first in the methodical study of psycho analysis, and later in political debates and in the righteousness of transgression.
In our aspiration to escape oppression, we have burdened sex with the promise of liberation.
Sex Fiction operates outside the borders of the sexual cause. These “objects”, mechanical and yet resonant of their organic heritage, use the abstract form to convey the hollowness of materiality. Neither meaningful nor threatening, they offer us something else than an interpretation of sex. By reducing to silence a history of moral conflicts, they illustrate the gratification of trivial joy and pleasure.
Through an immersive exhibition curated by Jonathan F. Kugel and Paul Spez for Fiumano Projects, Le Baron Von Flughafen puts the audience in a voyeur position, inviting them to witness ultimate sexual freedom.
